About Us:

Floorplans North was established back in 2003 by Paul Mann, then working with Floorplans, to help expand coverage of their services to the North of England. The company has been trading independently in various forms since 2006. In December 2013 the company is to be incorporated as Red Line Plans Ltd, still owned and managed by Paul Mann, but with a name that better represents our specialist fields of work.

The core of the business remains delivering high quality / low cost plans to Estate Agents for assisting with marketing. However Paul has drawn upon his photographic, surveying and draughting skills to develop a range of new services, including professional photography, bespoke brochure design, and high accuracy plan creation.

Providing a personal service has been at the heart of the our successes; when providing bespoke packages to help market many of the fine Pennine farmhouses it helps to tailor each job to its own needs. By focusing on the end result and giving each task the time it needs we ensure quality comes first.

Versatility helps us deliver technical plans for even the most demanding buildings. We use a range of methods to ensure an optimum level of accuracy and speed. For small regular spaces handheld distos, pencil and paper provide the best speed and flexibility. For larger irregular indoor spaces and any land surveying we have a Leica reflectorless total station to provide pinpoint accuracy. For inaccessible spaces and large building frontages we use close-range photogrammetry and rectified photographs. Combining all three can dramatically improve efficiency, helping us to keep costs to you down.

Paul Mann has been living around the Skipton area since 2002, drawing plans since the age of 5, and might describe himself as a visio-spatial engineer if such exists.

He studied Geology at Oxford, spent several years working as an archaeologist where he was quickly deployed to historic buildings (including being thrown in at the deep end during redevelopments at Somerset House), and is now working to complete a Masters degree course in Geomatics (the trendy name for surveying) at Glasgow University.

He enjoys getting out on and even into the hills, variously walking, orienteering and caving. (Yes he maps and photographs the caves too).

He is married to Joanne Whistler, they have a son Oliver, and twin daughters Rose and Pippa.
